About Renee Reuter

Renee Reuter, based in Jefferson County, Missouri, is a Member of the Missouri Bar Association and the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Renee is the District 2 Representative for Jefferson County Council and Vice Chair of the County Council. This is Renee’s tenth year serving on the County Council, and seventh year serving as either Chair or Vice Chair of the Council. In this role, Renee leads the legislative branch of county government and various legislative committees.

Renee coordinated efforts of government and charitable entities to serve over 1,000 flood victims following the December 2015 and May 2017 floods. After these flood events, Renee served on intergovernmental committees studying flooding and flood mitigation in the St. Louis region. She has testified on flood issues in front of committees of the Missouri state legislature and before local government entities in surrounding counties. In addition to her legislative work on this subject, Renee has written – and continues to write – a variety of informative articles relating to flood management, a number of which you can find on this site.

Throughout her public service to Jefferson County, Renee Reuter reviewed and passed annual balanced budgets for county government, organized, addressed, and served as master of ceremonies for town hall meetings, attended congressional district visits, and hosted seminars for subdivision residents and various public events.

For 18 years, Renee provided experienced Intellectual Property Counsel for the largest car rental company in the world, Enterprise Holdings, Inc. Renee was first hired as a full-time employee to work in government affairs while she attended law school at St. Louis University. Upon graduation, the company promoted her to a lawyer position, and she worked her way up in the company after graduating in 2002.

Renee Reuter currently works at Armstrong Teasdale as Senior Counsel in their Intellectual Property practice.For Renee Reuter, her work in law and her passion for public service all stem from her desire to positively impact people’s situations and lives.

“I had a friend who told me it’s a good idea to learn how to read and understand the law before I write it, so I went to law school after earning my undergraduate degree in Political Science. That’s what led me to my career as a lawyer and my work in public service.”

Renee Reuter is a graduate of Colorado College and Saint Louis University School of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, with honors, and a Juris Doctor degree.
